4. Portable Charger is a necessity when traveling between countries and abroad. (Amazon has many cheap good-quality options)

5. Due diligence: Research the countries and cities that you visit.

6. If you decide to backpack around a couple countries, book hostels near train stations.

7. Travel with an open mind.

8. Get out of your comfort zone. You left your home thousands of miles away to experience something new and meet new people. Don’t let yourself become an obstacle. Interact with everyone, 9 out of 10 times people are more than willing to help.

9. Google maps is very helpful for looking for places to eat, cities to explore, transportation information.

10. Plan your weeks out in advance. Plane and hostel costs change rapidly.
